Fix Ubuntu “smbus controller not enabled vmware workstation”


Ubuntu  is a free and open source operating system and Linux distribution based on Debian. Ubuntu is offered in three official editions: Ubuntu Desktop for personal computers, Ubuntu Server for servers and the cloud, and Ubuntu Core for Internet of things devices and robots. New releases of Ubuntu occur every six months, while long-term support (LTS) releases occur every two years.

Many peoples love to try linux for that they try virtualization using VirtualBox or VMware Workstation. But what if the user got error that stuck at the starting booting level and system doesn’t start. It so annoying that if the user get  error like “smbus controller not enabled vmware workstation” .

In this article, I bring a perfect solution for the error “smbus controller not enabled vmware workstation” . It may be work with all Linux distribution’s like Kali Linux.

Open .vmx file into your favorite editor like Notepad, For example : ubuntu.vmx and add the following line

cpuid.1.eax = "0000:0000:0000:0001:0000:0110:1010:0101"

Save the file and start the system.

Hurray..!! the error is still showing but the system is starting now.
