How to install Kali Linux 2017.3 in Virtual-Box | VMware Step by Step Guide


Kali Linux is one of the most favorite operating system of Hackers as well as Security Expert’s. Kali Linux developed by Offensive Security that it’s Debian based. Kali Linux have hundreds of tools for performing various operations like Information Gathering, Scanning, etc.

Kali Linux is easy to use and if you want to start your carrier in cyber world so you have must knowledge about Linux. So  I prefer that Kali Linux is one of the best and most popular Operating system.

Virtual-Box is a powerful x86 and AMD64/Intel64 virtualization product for enterprise as well as home use. Not only is Virtual-Box an extremely feature rich, high performance product for enterprise customers, it is also the only professional solution that is freely available as Open Source Software under the terms of the GNU General Public License (GPL) version 2.

Here I am presenting the first tutorial on Kali Linux that How to install Kali Linux in virtual-box.

1.Install Virtual-Box and click on left New to create New. Give the name and Select version Debian 32-bit/64-bit it’s based on your computer architecture.

2.Allocate Memory (i.e. RAM) minimum required 2GB for Kali Linux 2016.2

3.Create a Virtual Hard Disk for your Kali Linux

4.Now select Hard Disk File type VDI (Virtual Disk Image).

5.Select Dynamically allocated that it take storage only used by our Operating system.

6.Give the hard disk space that’s minimum 30GB.

7.Browse the ISO file of our Kali Linux

8.Now select Graphical install option (recommended for new users).

9.Select your language that in which you want to install Kali linux.

10.Select your location

11.Configure the Keyboard type that you have, Here I am used American English. 

12.Enter the host name for your Kali Linux.

13.Enter the password for root user. Root user is the administrator account for the Linux System.

14.Create partitions of your disk Guided-use entire disk  (recommended for new user).

15.Click that All files in one partition (recommended for new user).

16.Finish partition and write changes.

17.Save the changes of partition disk.

18.Use network mirror? Here I choose No , because it required Internet Connection to download latest package.

19.Install Grub boot loader on a hard disk.

20.Select path for install Grub boot loader, Select by default path. Don’t select by manually (recommended for new user)

Installation is finish here, now you can use your Kali Linux in Virtual-box.
